Item types, details and custom fields
What the Regular item, Antique, Vehicle and Real estate types add — and how custom fields cover the rest.
Every item has a type, chosen in the editor. The type decides which detail cards appear.
The four types
Regular item — the default. Photos, purchase details, warranty, category, location and notes.
Antique — for pieces where provenance matters more than a store receipt.
Vehicle — adds registration number, make, model and model year.
Real estate — adds address, cadastre number, year built and the other facts of a property.
Details worth filling in
The Details card holds the store, purchase date, price and serial number — the things an insurance claim or warranty case will ask for. Notes take free-form text with formatting.
Custom fields
When the built-in cards do not cover it, add your own fields: text, number, date, yes/no or a picker with your own options. Custom fields work per collection, so a wine cellar and a tool shed can track completely different things.
